TERMS & CONDITIONS
PAYMENT TERMS
- Deposit (10%): Required upon signing the contract.
- Fabrication Payment: Due when slabs are cut or fabricated.
- Final Payment: Due upon completion of work.
Important: Projects will not be scheduled for production without receipt of the deposit.
TEMPLATE PROCEDURE
Material & Site Readiness
- Slabs must be paid for and delivered to LA Countertop Inc. before templating.
- A homeowner or contractor must be present during templating.
Pre-Installation Requirements
- Cabinets must be fully installed before templating.
- Existing countertops must be removed unless removal is included in the contract.
- Sinks, faucets, and cooktops must be on-site but uninstalled.
- Apron/Farmhouse sinks must be set in place before templating.
Structural Requirements
- Cabinets require 5/8″ plywood decking unless otherwise specified.
- Overhangs exceeding 6” (10” for 3cm material) require additional support.
- Obstacles (e.g., outlets, under-cabinet lighting) must be removed for full backsplash installations before templating.
MATERIAL DISCLAIMER
⚠ Natural Stone Variations
- Stone slabs are natural products and may include variations in texture, color, fissures, or pitting. These are not defects.
⚠ Quartz Material Disclaimer
- Quartz surfaces may display color variations, pigment pooling, or pattern irregularities due to the manufacturing process.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
On-Site Access & Responsibility
- A homeowner or contractor must be present during installation to provide access and address any decisions.
- Delays due to lack of access will incur additional trip charges.
Plumbing & Electrical Work
- LA Countertop Inc. sets and secures sinks but does not perform plumbing or electrical connections.
Dust & Site Preparation
- Stone cutting generates dust. Homeowners are responsible for sealing off rooms and covering appliances.
Lighting & Surface Appearance
- Lighting conditions may affect the perceived appearance of installed surfaces.
INCIDENTAL/CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGE DISCLAIMER
LA Countertop Inc. is not responsible for:
- Minor damage to walls, cabinets, or appliances during installation.
- Plumbing fixtures or disposals damaged due to age or corrosion.
- Issues arising from the removal of appliances or countertops.
SEALER & MAINTENANCE INFORMATION
- Stone surfaces are sealed before installation.
- Resealing is recommended every 6–12 months.
- Use stone-specific cleaners only.
REMNANT POLICY
- Customers must arrange pickup for remnants within 30 days.
- After 30 days, remnants are considered abandoned.
LIMITED WARRANTY
Residential Projects
- 1-year warranty on workmanship (excluding staining, etching, or material defects).
No Warranty Provided For:
- Porcelain slabs
- Natural stone
- Fireplaces
- Exterior installations
PAYMENT TERMS & COLLECTION POLICY
- Final payment is due at installation.
- Accepted payment methods: Cash, Check, Credit Card, Zelle, Venmo, or Money Order.
- Late payments incur a 3% charge after 30 days.
⚠ Mechanic’s Lien Rights
- Unpaid balances may result in a mechanic’s lien per California law.
CANCELLATION POLICY
- Special order materials are non-cancellable.
CHANGE ORDER POLICY
- Any contract changes must be documented in writing.
“THREE-DAY” RIGHT TO CANCEL
- Customers have the right to cancel the contract within three business days per California law.
MECHANIC’S LIEN WARNING
Even if payment is made in full, unpaid subcontractors or suppliers may file a lien.
For Protection:
✅ Request a list of subcontractors and suppliers.
✅ Wait 20 days before making the final payment.
✅ Issue joint checks to both contractor and supplier.
