What’s the difference between marble and granite?
Marble has veining, is porous and more prone to etching; granite is flecked, harder, and more heat-resistant.
Do marble or granite slabs need to be sealed? How often?
Yes. Seal granite yearly (sometimes every 6–12 months); marble may need resealing every 6 months.
Will granite scratch or chip easily?
Granite is scratch‑resistant but not scratch‑proof; chips are rare but can happen near edges or sinks.
What are standard slab sizes and thicknesses?
Common slabs are ~9 × 5 ft; thicknesses of 2 cm (¾″) and 3 cm (1¼″).
How do I care for my natural stone countertop?
Wipe with mild soap/water, avoid acidic cleaners, use coasters/trivets, and reseal as needed.
